On Jan 14th, we (i.e. all higher and foundation level English-classes in Year 12) had a workshop with the wonderful Clare Wigfall. She is a British author who visits schools to teach creative writing and we had the opportunity to experiment with our own (creative) writing skills.
First, she showed us one of her own short stories to introduce us to the world of fiction. Then we worked on world-building and we had to create our own main character for dystopian/apocalyptic fiction. We came up with diverse and extraordinary stories, which we are continuing and will each present to our class.
It was a lot of fun to get to know other stories, and we are glad that Ms Rosenbrock gave us the opportunity to keep writing them. We hope Clare Wigfall will come back to our school in the future, since it was such a great and inspiring experience for us.
